Calendly launched Callie (beta), an AI scheduling assistant, and Calendly Notetaker in August 2026. Callie automates meeting coordination within email threads, checking availability and booking times without creating new scheduling links. Notetaker joins Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams calls to record, transcribe, and generate summaries and action items. CEO Tope Awotona emphasized transparency: "The recording assistant sends a message in the chat to inform everyone of its presence." Beta users generated 100,000+ recordings. Users report saving 3-4 hours weekly on meeting-related tasks.

Calendly laid off 70 employees (approximately 13% of workforce) in December 2024 as part of a reorganization. The cuts impacted engineering, customer experience, marketing, and billing teams. CEO Tope Awotona announced the layoffs via internal memo obtained by Business Insider. This followed a previous round of 60 layoffs in July 2023. Shane Murphy-Reuter was hired as President of GTM the same month. By June 2026, Calendly appeared on PitchBook's "fallen unicorns" list as reported by CNBC.
