A February 2023 filing with California EDD documented 132 job cuts. Glassdoor reviews through 2025 describe "constant layoffs every 6 months or so." The cuts came as alternative meat sales dropped 14% industry-wide.

Impossible Foods was recognized as Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index in 2021, scoring 100%. The company offers 4 weeks PTO, 10 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, and equity participation. However, the company conducted multiple rounds of layoffs in 2022-2023, including sudden cuts that affected 132 employees in California with affected workers learning of terminations the same day.

CEO Pat Brown signed the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion Pledge in 2019, committing to diversity trainings and cognitive bias seminars. The company established Employee Resource Groups including Impossible Pride (LGBTQ+) and Women at Impossible.
