Airtable's AI Privacy and Security Overview states customer data is not retained by AI vendors, and "neither Airtable nor their model developers use customer data to train current or future models." Enterprise customers control which AI models to enable and can route data through Amazon Bedrock for additional privacy. All AI requests are encrypted, and administrators must explicitly enable AI for organizations.

CEO Howie Liu offered generous severance after Airtable's September 2023 layoffs: 16 weeks of pay, two months of accelerated equity vesting, and six months of healthcare coverage. Liu told Forbes "It's a sickening feeling. I made the decisions that got us here" and took "full responsibility." However, this was the second round in less than a year after December 2022 cuts (254 employees).
