In May 2026, Index Ventures co-founder Neil Rimer publicly stated at the Panathenea tech festival in Athens that AI-generated wealth must be redistributed: "I have a strong sense that there will be some sort of a redistribution. It'll either be voluntary or it'll be involuntary, but it'll happen, and I hope it's voluntary." Index Ventures is a major investor in Anthropic (the AI safety company) and netted approximately $9 billion from 2025 exits. Rimer also expressed concern about "the moral center of tech companies."
