Wise laid off 307 employees and closed its Tampa, Florida office, announced February 7, 2025. Terminations began April 8, 2025, with the office closing in November 2025. Affected roles included 43 due diligence senior agents, 40 customer support specialists, and 37 customer support associates. A Wise spokesperson framed the move as "strengthening collaboration across its teams as its business rapidly expands." The company stated: "We know this personally impacts our Wisers, especially in Tampa, and our immediate priority is to support each of our affected teammates during this time." Americas operations consolidated to Austin, New York, and São Paulo.

Wise operates a flexible hybrid workplace policy where employees can split their working week between office and home, typically coming in at least 12 times a month after their first 6 months. The "WorkFlex" program allows employees to work remotely from up to 60 pre-approved countries for up to 90 days each year. All employees globally receive 33 days paid time off per year plus 3 "Me Days" for personal admin and a paid 6-week sabbatical with £1,000 financial support. In February 2025, amid industry-wide return-to-office pressure, the company reaffirmed its hybrid-first stance without announcing stricter mandates.
